About Me

Kimia Khoshroo

Registered Psychotherapist | Adolescents & Adults

I'm Kimia Khoshroo, a Registered Psychotherapist providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults across Ontario.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, stress, and major life transitions. I have a particular interest in helping people who are highly self-critical, overwhelmed by expectations, or caught in patterns of worry, avoidance, and overthinking.

My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than simply trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, I help clients understand the patterns that keep them stuck, develop a more flexible relationship with their thoughts and feelings, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want.

I believe therapy should be both compassionate and purposeful. You should feel heard and understood, but therapy should also give you practical ways to approach the challenges you face outside the therapy room.

For adolescents, I provide support with anxiety, depression, school and academic pressure, perfectionism, self-esteem, social difficulties, and emotional regulation. I aim to create a space where young people can speak openly and develop a better understanding of themselves without feeling judged.

I offer therapy in English, Farsi, and French, allowing clients to communicate in the language in which they feel most comfortable.

Whether you're dealing with a specific mental health concern or have reached a point where the way you've been coping is no longer working, therapy can be a place to understand what's happening and begin moving forward.
